CHRISTI PATTON
Dr. Christi Patton is the 2005 Chair and is Applied Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Tulsa. Dr. Patton holds a B.S., Chemical Engineering, Texas A&M University (1981); M.S., Applied Mathematics, University of Tulsa (1988) and Ph.D.,Chemical Engineering, University of Tulsa (1993).

Her Honors and Awards include the Tau Beta Pi Teaching Excellence Award (1995), Kermit E. Brown Award for Teaching Excellence (2000/2001), and the TU Outstanding Teacher of the Year (2003)

BARBARA TODD
Barbara is a WIC Past Chair (2004) and holds a BS Chemical Engineering Oklahoma State University (1982) and a MS Chemical Engineering Oklahoma State University (1985). She started to work for Phillips Petroleum Company in Odessa Texas in 1986, where she became the process engineer for Artesia, New Mexico gas plant. In late 1987, she transferred to Seneca, South Carolina where she worked for Phillips Fibers Corporation. In 1991, she transferred to Bartlesville Technology Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to work in separations research for ConocoPhillips. Her current job title is Senior Separations Research and Development Specialist. She is author of 9 outside publications, and holds one US and one World patent. Her recent work includes research and development from bench to full-scale for conversion of vegetable oil extraction industry from hexane to isohexane solvent. She is ConocoPhillips representative to Separations Research Program and won an Outstanding Paper Presentation award from the American Oil Chemists’ Society in 2003. She is a past Chair and currently Director and Newsletter Editor for AIChE’s Bartlesville Local Section. She has authored papers on the history of women in chemical engineering. She owns a 275-acre cattle ranch in southern Kansas where she lives with her husband and two daughters.

SURITA BHATIA

Dr. Surita Bhatia is WIC Past Chair (2003) and holds a B.Ch.E. with distinction, summa cum laude, from the University of Delaware in 1995 and a Ph.D. from Princeton University in 2000. She is currently Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts and has earned College of Engineering Outstanding Teacher Award (2004), a NSF CAREER Award (2003), a DuPont Young Professor Award (2002), and a 3M Nontenured Faculty Award (2002).
